I’m Cathy Sanders—an angler, educator, former professional beach-fishing guide, and the founder of Fishin’ Girl. I share practical lessons and honest experiences to help people fish with greater confidence while creating a welcoming community for women who love the water.

HOW IT STARTED
My beach-fishing journey began in 2020 after moving to Florida. I learned by spending countless hours on the shore—studying the water, testing tackle and bait, learning from mistakes, and paying attention to what actually worked. Fishing soon became much more than a pastime. In 2022, I tied the Georgia female record for Florida pompano and began guiding others from the beach. But the most meaningful part was helping people move past uncertainty and experience the confidence that comes from learning to do it themselves.
What We Promote through Fishin’ Girl:
What We Don’t Promote through Fishin’ Girl:
Fishin’ Girl exists to empower women through fishing, while cultivating a safe, supportive, and purpose-driven community. Founded on principles of faith, family, and patriotism, we welcome women from all walks of life who share a passion for angling and personal growth.
Our mission is about more than just casting a line—it’s about casting vision, building sisterhood, and changing lives.
We stand firm in the belief that a woman’s worth lies in her strength, skills, and character—not in appearance or societal pressures. We’re creating a drama-free, judgment-free space where women can connect, fish, grow, and support each other.
We are here to make a lasting impact in the fishing world and beyond. Our goal is to offer more than opportunities—we offer purpose and real community.
